- I

Recently I had the opportunity to visit once again Mexico City, a beautiful, culturally rich, city. One of the places I visited was the Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL); a place where even the building (from the neoclassic) is a source of inspiration.

During the time of my visit the museum had, apart from the permanent collections, an exhibition by Mexican artist José Clemente Orozco, which is titled "Figura Retorcida". The pieces were created by etching and drawing.

Another temporal exhibition that I had the opportunity to visit was the one titled "Vanguardia en México" where, as its name suggest, encloses pieces by representative artist of the vanguardist movement in Mexico (in its own, the vanguardism is composed of many movements so you can imagine the variety of works of this particular exhibit). This was the viewing that I enjoyed the most, it counts with more than 100 works of art that were made between 1910-1940. Artists included are: Rufino Tamayo, Julio Prieto, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, among others.

If you live in Mexico City, or its among your plans to travel there soon; do not hesitate to visit this musem and others. They are really worth it. Just a suggestion, go with a handful of hours avaiable to just visit the place; it is a big museum and you need time to look over everything.
